Os eleitores brasileiros escolheram neste domingo (4) dois senadores em cada estado e no Distrito Federal. Ao todo, 54 das 81 cadeiras do Senado Federal estiveram em disputa nas eleições de 2026, o equivalente a dois terços da Casa. Os dois candidatos mais votados em cada unidade da Federação foram eleitos. Com a renovação de dois terços das cadeiras, o resultado das urnas modifica de forma significativa a composição do Senado a partir de 2027. Para conhecer o novo quadro da Casa, no entanto, é preciso considerar também os 27 senadores eleitos em 2022 que não tiveram seus mandatos submetidos à votação neste ano. Esses parlamentares têm mandato previsto até janeiro de 2031. Veja os eleitos por estado Os 54 novos senadores estão distribuídos em duas vagas para cada uma das 27 unidades da Federação. A votação para o Senado é majoritária: são eleitos os dois candidatos que obtêm o maior número de votos em cada estado e no Distrito Federal.
